    About Kangaroo Island Destinations

Kangaroo Island (KI) is Australia's third-largest island, covering 4,405 km² off the coast of South Australia. With over one-third of the island protected as national park or conservation reserve, KI offers some of Australia's most pristine natural landscapes. Our guides cover every accessible destination — from the iconic Remarkable Rocks at Flinders Chase to the hidden beaches of the north coast.

    North Coast & Towns

The north coast is home to the island's main settlements. Kingscote is the largest town with restaurants, accommodation, and essential services. Emu Bay offers the island's best calm-water swimming, while Stokes Bay is famous for its secret rock-tunnel entrance to a hidden beach. American River is a peaceful fishing village on Eastern Cove.

    South Coast & Wildlife

The south coast is wild and windswept, home to Vivonne Bay (voted Australia's best beach), Seal Bay Conservation Park where you can walk among endangered Australian sea lions, Little Sahara sand dunes, and the underground Kelly Hill Caves.

    West End Wilderness

Flinders Chase National Park protects the island's western wilderness. Here you'll find Remarkable Rocks, Admirals Arch with its fur seal colony, Hanson Bay for koala spotting, and the start of the 61 km Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail.

    Dudley Peninsula

The Dudley Peninsula is where the SeaLink ferry arrives at Penneshaw. Explore Cape Willoughby lighthouse (SA's oldest), secluded Antechamber Bay, and the dramatic surf of Pennington Bay.
